Characterizing Genuine Multipartite Entanglement in 2D Quantum Spin Lattices

We formulate an efficient method for characterizing and quantifying genuine multipartite entanglement in two-dimensional (2D) Heisenberg spin systems where the ground state is a large superposition obtained from nearest-neighbor dimer coverings on spin-1/2 lattices, the resonating valence bond (RVB) state. We find an analytical iterative method, the density matrix recursion method, to generate arbitrary reduced states, allowing us to study genuine multisite entanglement using a computable measure, called generalized geometric measure (GGM). The scaling of GGM distinguishes odd from even Heisenberg spin ladders with RVB ground states. We also perform the finite-size scaling analysis for the 2D square Heisenberg spin lattice.
